How to Lipslide in Skate 4

Skate 4‘s challenges require you to learn all sorts of different tricks that you may have never done before. A Trick of the Day challenge requires you to perform a Lipslide, for example, but some Skate 4 players are struggling to pull it off.

Lipslides are a special type of grind in Skate 4. They’re thankfully not as complicated as other tricks, but they still take a bit of practice to get right. However, once you’ve found a good spot and take some time to learn the controls, you’ll be grinding like a pro.

How to Do a Lipslide in Skate 4

To perform a Lipslide in Skate 4, all you have to do is hold the analog stick to the right midair before starting a grind. The trick is affected by the direction you’re facing, so you’ll have to hold the analog stick to the left if you’re approaching the grind backside.

If you don’t get the direction right, you’ll end up performing a Boardslide or another type of grind, depending on your landing.

Basically, you just need to rotate your board and swing the back truck over the rail or curb that you’re grinding on. Make sure you get enough air to get the board fully over the rail; otherwise, you’ll perform a different type of grind at best or crash onto the pavement at worst.

You have to hold the analog stick in the correct direction to perform a Lipslide as well. Just flicking it will start a different trick animation and mess everything up. Hold the stick, land the center of your board on the rail, and then safely exit the grind to complete the trick.

That’s all there is to it! This is one of the easiest tricks to perform in Skate 4 once you get the controls down. As long as you get enough air on your initial Ollie, you shouldn’t have any problems spinning your board around to pull off a Lipslide. Some places are better for this than others, so explore San Vansterdam for new skate spots if you can’t seem to get it right.
